Sheares Hall

Design Tonic was commissioned by HG Construction to deliver the commercial fit-out for Sheares Hall – a landmark 350-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Newcastle. Delivered on behalf of Homes for Students, the development combines a mix of studios and cluster flats with high-quality amenity spaces, including a gym, cinema, games room, co-working lounges, study areas and a communal courtyard – all designed to meet the city’s growing demand for premium student living.

A standout feature of the scheme is the reception area – designed around a terrazzo-effect tiled desk with clean lines and robust, contemporary finishes that set the tone for the wider interior palette. Throughout the amenity spaces, considered joinery and carefully coordinated furnishings bring cohesion, durability and purpose to each environment – from the cinema lounge to the co-working zones.
