This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Design Tonic has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Design Tonic has a zero tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain. We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner.
These include:
-SCAF Forms: we ensure that all our suppliers & subcontractors complete a SCAF form. This includes confirming all employee’s eligibility to work in the UK to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
-Whistleblowing policy. We operate a whistleblowing policy so that all employees know that they can raise concerns about how colleagues are being treated, or practices within our business or supply chain, without fear of reprisals.
In addition to the above, we undertake to do the following:
-Communicate our modern slavery in supply chain policy (SCAF Form).
-Expect our suppliers to demand the same requirements of their suppliers
-Provide guidance and support to suppliers, where required
-Where we suspect our suppliers to be practicing modern slavery, we reserve the right to conduct further research. If we judge the finding to be in breach of modern slavery guidelines, we expect our suppliers to make immediate changes to remedy the situation.
-Provide training for our staff to raise awareness and develop their capability in identifying and reporting poor practice.
-Ensure that, where it is found that we have caused or contributed to modern slavery, we provide or contribute to appropriate remediation.
