We’ve known for a while that it was time for us to strike out on our own and make the move from our stunning shared office at The Property Buying Group, though tearing ourselves away from that space was pretty tough.
Being the perfectionists we are, it took time to find the perfect spot to create our HQ haven - but find it we did.
With just 8 weeks for a full office fit-out and move, we needed to pull our transformation skates on to get in for Christmas.
Good job we’re used to tight timeframes isn’t it ;)
One December opening later, and the team are all settled and feeling right at home in our beautiful new HQ.
And so we should be, because this office scheme was designed to showcase exactly what we do - invigorating, inspirational commercial interiors comfort at its very best.

A Calming, Positive Workspace with Wellbeing at its heart
Our own HQ was always going to be the realisation of all the things that make up the Design Tonic ethos…
… A stunning workspace where every element encourages innovation, inspiration and collaboration.
… An oasis of clever design and calm that helps our team feel and do their best every day. … And the perfect environment to show visiting clients what we can achieve for them.
Embracing everything that’s good about resimercial design, we’ve fused office functionality with home comforts to create a space where people want to spend their time. Flooded with natural light and surrounded by countryside (and well connected, visiting clients!), we chose a soft, neutral palette to continue the connection to the outside.
Think delicious muted green paintwork and luxurious planting mixed with foliage motifs that run across walls and dress storage units.
We mixed our woods for depth, with a paler tone for flooring that sits alongside warmer shades for furniture and internal woodwork.
Ergonomic workspaces combine with lush, comfy breakout areas, so periods of concentration slide seamlessly into periods of collaboration.
And design-led ceiling strip lights throw their angular glow onto desks for task completion without the eyestrain.
Resimercial Design Touches
More and more, the way we design our office spaces is merging with the way we live at home, with lots of similar principles and materials used across both.
This idea of the “resimercial” workplace is one you’ll see across our schemes, right through from our earliest commercial projects.
And here, from the colours and patterns to the soft, plush textiles to the metallics that add their soft glow, our HQ is no stranger to the fusion touch.
After all, who wants a workspace that’s stark and bland?
Different Tasks, Different Spaces
Speaking of tasks.
We’ve talked before about how we champion a variety of collaborative and social spaces in the commercial offices we design for clients.
This is because few of us do one task all day. Most modern roles mix times of quiet focus with team collaboration and client engagement. And we also need places to break and recharge.
Our workplaces need to be agile enough to cope with all these requirements. And so here in our HQ, as in all our designs, you’ll find:
- Individual workspaces
- Quiet spaces
- Breakout areas
- Formal meeting spaces
- Informal meeting/ “meet and greet” spaces
- Creative spaces
You’ll also see that the division of these areas meets their particular need - closed off for privacy and quiet, while work and collaboration spaces remain open, marked by furniture, flooring or open dividers.

Biophilia - naturally!
Would it even be a Design Tonic space if it wasn’t filled with beautiful, happy-making greenery? You know we love everything about interior planting.
There’s something so restful about the way tumbling, trailing greenery softens any office space.
Thanks to the green-fingered skills of friends like the brilliant Oasis Plants, we’ve used green features to elevate our client designs since we started out because we’re passionate about creating the palpable sense of workplace wellbeing that comes from walking into an office filled with plants.
And it was never going to be any different here at Design Tonic HQ.
From the ceiling installation that frames our branded “DT” lights to the greenery that drapes the wood frames that mark different spaces, we’re definitely living in a world of green here at DTHQ.
